Firmware Update v1.03 for Olympus DS-9000 and Olympus DS-2600
On Monday, Jun 24, 2019 Olympus released firmware v1.03 for the DS-9000 and DS-2600. The firmware fixes a distortion issue that may occur when a voice file was recorded. These occurrences were rare, but in the few cases reported the mid-file distortion can only be heard during playback in the Olympus software. Please read the release notes below for more information. 1. New Firmware Version: Firmware 1.03 fixes bug that causes a "noise" that may occur during playback of a recorded file.
2. Phenomenon: When you playback throughout the file, noise will occur from the part that is damaged and will continue to the end of the file. If you stop playback slightly after the point at which the noise occurred and resume playback, file will playback correctly from that point onward.
3. Cause of the failure: Depending on the timing when you stop the recording, wrong information may be written to the header of the file.
4. Corrective Action: Corrected the way the recorder writes information to the file header.
5. Contents of release: - Win version updater for DS-9000 and DS-2600. - Mac version updater for DS-9000 and DS-2600. - Uploading the DS-9000 binary file to the download server. *The SCP does not support the DS-2600, so there is no binary file.
